School meals

Healthy school food helps your child establish healthy habits for life and improves their readiness to learn. Our catering provider, Catering Leeds, prepare our food, fresh every day in our school kitchen. Our school meals provide balanced, delicious and healthy choices for your child using seasonal, local produce wherever possible. You can pay for your child's meals using School Money, our online payment system.

The menu for the current term is displayed below. Themed menu days make school meals even more fun, tasty and celebratory. We have themed menu days covering events or themes such as Christmas, Eid, Sports Day and Yorkshire.

We cater for vegan, vegetarian, halal and other dietary requirements.

Packed lunches

Children may also bring packed lunches. Fizzy drinks, chocolate bars or nuts of any description must not be included in packed lunches.

Allergies

Catering Leeds cannot legally guarantee meals will be allergen-free even after allergen-ingredients have been removed from recipes. However, they will not intentionally use any tree-nuts, peanuts, sesame, or any product containing nuts/sesame as an ingredient within their food offer. Ingredients or items declared as “may contain nuts” are also excluded from menus. If your child has a food allergy or intolerance we will ask you to complete a special medical diet form, which can be downloaded from our Forms page.

We understand that some families like to send in a small treat for the class to celebrate a birthday. However, we must be very careful about any food that is brought into school. If you would like to send in a small birthday treat, we ask that items are nut free, allergy-aware and individually wrapped, and suitable for children with halal dietary requirements where possible. Please avoid sending mixed boxes of chocolates that may contain nuts (for example boxes such as Celebrations). Some examples of suitable treats include:

  • Small packets of sweets (gelatine-free where possible)
  • Small packets of crisps
  • Raisin boxes or small snack packs

A number of staff have received allergy awareness training, and adrenaline auto-injectors (allergy pens) are held in school for emergency situations.

The Government has recently announced stronger protections for children in school will come into force from September 2026, and we are preparing for these changes.

Water

All children have access to chilled drinking water with their lunch and through the school day.

Milk

We provide a daily drink of milk to children in Reception aged under 5. If you wish your child to continue receiving milk in school after their 5th birthday you can request this from our milk provider.
