OFSTED

Our most recent inspection was in November 2023 and confirmed that we continue to be a good school in all areas.

Ofsted Report

Every faith school is inspected under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. These inspections evaluate the Catholic life of the school, the provision and quality of collective worship, as well as all areas of religious education.

The Catholic life of the school and its religious education were most recently inspected in April 2025, and we were delighted that our Catholic life and mission were once again judged to be outstanding. The full report is available to read here.
Some quotes from our report which we are very proud of include:

Pupils have a deep sense of respect for each other at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary. This is a view universally held by all. They value each other, and they know they themselves are valued and cared for. They are very proud of their school.

They recognise the values the school holds and the virtues they should aspire to, along with the importance of school rules. Their behaviour is exemplary.

The centrality of prayer and liturgy to the life of the school is clearly in evidence. Prayer is naturally embedded in the school’s daily life. A wide variety of experiences are offered, on an invitational basis. This extends to pupils of other faiths, with due regard to their special times of celebration.

The physical environment is an outstanding witness to the school’s Catholic identity, with inspirational displays throughout the building, including pupils’ work, celebration of the diversity of the languages, backgrounds and religions present in school, Christian art and artefacts, prayer stations, and a focus on the school values.

The clear sense of a united community is built on the inclusion of all and the strong culture of welcome. This permeates throughout, and is shown in the quality of pastoral support that pupils and their families receive.
